South West England, Great Britain, UK

Cheap plane tickets to Bournemouth? Hell, yeah!

Welcome to the second part of our South West England adventure. (Read the first part of our road trip about us visiting Shaftesbury and Castle Combe.) Like I spoiled to you, those two remaining days we got a bright sky without clouds.

When people say Old Harry Rocks, the most eastern point of the Jurassic Coast, I instantly imagine three chalk formations raising from the sea, slightly covered by the morning fog or morning sunrise, and endless „nowhere“. What we got was slightly different than that: lots of people, lots of boats and yachts sailing around those cliffs and rocks, burning sun and fear we will get a parking ticket because parking machine is cash only and it is not possible to pay „by calling“ even the instructions say so. But, even tho it wasn’t what we expected we were amazed by the beauty of the Jurassic Coast and we will make sure to explore this place properly some other time – one day is just not enough.

Oh, and we would definitely recommend visiting the city Bath up the cost (there is an Anthropologie store!) or the small-town Clevedon – a perfect place for fish and chips takeaway eaten by the historical Clevedon Pier! Make sure to go to Clevedon Fish Bar on 15 Old Church Rd. Note, that it is cash only „fast food“. We also had to make an exception and withdraw some pounds, but it was worth all the bank fees we paid!

Been there, loved it

Bath

Framptons Restaurant near Pulteney Bridge

We enjoyed a great lunch menu at Framptons Restaurant near Pulteney Bridge – both worth visiting. Sadly, I deleted all the photos of Pulteney Bridge, Parade GardensThe Roman Baths, and Bath Abbey – yep, sometimes it happens (new in organizing in Lightroom :D) but it’s a great reason to visit this city again!

Next time we would also love to visit Bath Skyline, American Museum & Gardens, Warleigh Weir, Prior Park, The Circus, and No. 1 Royal Crescent.

The Round House, Stanton Drew

The Blessed Virgin Mary in Stanton Drew in the English county of Somerset

We also did a quick walk to see Stanton Drew Circles and Cove just outside the village of Stanton Drew. It’s not possible to photograph those large stone circles without a drone, so we enjoyed the mythical atmosphere here and continued on our road trip on the west.

Next time we would love to see Church of All Saints in Publow and Pensford Viaduct.
